Whether it's your own smoking, a housemate's, or lingering odour in a newly rented home, cigarette smoke is one of the harder indoor air problems to solve — because it's not just particles, it's also gas and odour compounds that settle into fabric, carpet and walls. Running the purifier during and immediately after smoking, not just afterward, meaningfully reduces how much smoke settles into soft furnishings in the first place.

Realistic Expectations

It's worth being upfront about limitations. An air purifier reduces airborne smoke particles and, with a strong carbon filter, significantly reduces circulating odour — but it cannot:
